Wilson Kimball is available for readings at schools and private parties. If you would like to schedule a reading with Wilson just e-mail us about it. Readings make the perfect gift for birthday parties and show-and-tell. Wilson has read at shools such as the United Nations School in New York City and the Caroline Street School in Saratoga Springs, NY.

Wilson Kimball read “Madison in New York” to Ms. Melander’s second grade class at the Caroline Street School in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. Twenty-six well-behaved students sat in rapt attention for an hour as Wilson shared Madison and New Yorkey’s New York City adventures. Who wouldn’t love a story about a little girl and her dog visiting the sites of the Big Apple?

The children quickly identified with Madison because they each had their own best friend. Whether it is a turtle, a snail, a gecko or a goldfish, every child had or has a pet they consider their best friend. Every child raised their hand to confess they talked to their pet. Every child believes their pet talks to them. And every adult remembers that those are some of the best conversations they ever had.

It was an interactive day. The children voted on their favorite sites and shared stories about their own adventures. Most of them had visited sites in New York City or had seen the sites featured in other books, on television or in a movie. There were also New York City sites the children hadn’t seen but were on their “to do” list, if second graders could write a “to do” list.

After the reading, Wilson stayed to sign and dedicate each book for every child. Her hand was sore but her heart was full. What is better than spending time with terrific children who want to spend time with you? The answer is “nothing”.

Wilson Kimball is also now designing one-of-a-kind jewelry that Madison and New Yorkey would be proud to wear. Visit her site at www.wilsonkimball.com.
